County officials would like to remind the public that a portion of Kamalu Road near the Wailua Homesteads Park will be closed this week due to the installation of a new culvert. The closure will be in effect today to Sunday.
Motorists should also be aware that the Puuopae Bridge along the detour route that was included with a news release issued Wednesday has a three ton weight limit.
Trucks and other vehicles that exceed the posted weight limit should seek an alternate route instead of crossing the bridge. The Kamalu Road culvert project began on June 16 and is expected to be completed by the end of August.
