The scouts of Troop 148 are hosting a car wash at Kukui Grove Shopping Center from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 2. The fundraiser is intended to pay for the costs of a two-day trip to Oahu in September.

The scouts are preparing for their trip to earn two merit badges.
Aboard the historic Battleship Missouri Memorial, or “Mighty Mo,” scouts will be exposed to the history of the battleship, World War II, and the events at Pearl Harbor.
Scouts will also work on requirements to earn their American Heritage merit badge.
Scouts will get a chance to sample “life at sea” by sleeping in the crew berthing areas, storing their gear in ship lockers, and eating Navy-style meals.
Donations will be accepted at the car wash.
