A few Kauai residents are coming together to support Puna residents on the Big Island devastated by Tropical Storm Iselle.
“Since we have been through Hurricane Iniki, we know the daily hardships that Puna residents are experiencing,” said a press release. “With that being said, ‘Kauai Aloha’ is reaching out to aid the families on the Big Island.”
A food and supply drive is scheduled Saturday at the KIF preseason football game between Waimea High School and Hawaii Prepatory Academy at Hanapepe Stadium. A donation station will be set up near the main entrance.
Nonperishable food items, bottled water, household goods, generators and building supplies are requested. Assistance in storing and shipping these items is also needed.
