The whole state was on the move this weekend (Bill Buley got to do the Paradise Ride)!
Jason Choi (yep. he’s BB Choi’s son), Todd Ikemoto, Brad Baris, and all kinds of Kauai people were in Hilo for a wedding while some of the Hilo folks were on Oahu, like Jonah Stein and his Puuwai keiki paddling teammates, for the state races. And, was Lauren Yama coming back from Maui? Or, was it the Junior America Cup where Hawaii was declared the winner behind Shawn Lu of Honolulu?
The biggest movement came with Kalani Vierra and the Kauai Junior Lifeguards (congratulations on making No. 11 consecutive state champs!) who are on the Mainland at the nationals.
People were coming in as Jo Manea and her crew hosted the Heiva i Kauai (Darin Moriki — his Damien football team is coming Saturday — said aunty Carol Akau [how many remember Tahiti Fete?] is on-island till Wednesday), and who was in the Na Pali Challenge?
