The community is invited to attend a public information meeting for the Nawiliwili Road construction project between Kaumualii Highway and Kanani Street from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Jam Room at Kukui Grove Center.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division, Kauai District, anticipates starting construction in early 2015. This project includes concrete roadway reconstruction; curbs, gutters and sidewalks; drainage systems reconstruction; signal reconstruction; and safety improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists.
Lane closures will begin in early 2015. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction and occasional night work is possible.
