LIHUE – Anyone with unused or expired prescription medication is encouraged to drop off the medication during National Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kauai Police Department’s headquarters, 3990 Kaana Street.
Drop-offs of tablets, capsules, and other solid dosage forms will be accepted anonymously, no questions asked. Needles and syringes will not be accepted.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The local effort is co-sponsored by KPD, Life’s Choices Kauai and Drug Enforcement Administration.
