WAIMEA — Stella Amulacion was thrilled to find everything in one place right there in Waimea on Saturday.
“We have everything here — entertainment, food, good deals,” Amulacion said. “And, this is a first for Waimea.”
Memory Robinson, the operator of the Menehune Product Fair, coordinated with Carnation Harris and Fualupe Tuihalafatai to offer the first Waimea Swap Meet.
“We’re going to do this on the second Saturday of each month,” Robinson said. “We’re planning on having vendors, entertainment, food, and more so there is something on the Westside once a month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
Amulacion was one of the vendors, joining her sister Priscilla Aki, who was manning a table featuring custom jewelry created by Aki’s daughter Mai.
“We’re lucky Memory came to one of our garage sales,” Amulacion said. “She got this idea after seeing how garage sales work, and now, we have 20 vendors. You pay a small fee, but if you have good products, that is just a small fee.”
