NAWILIWILI — Everybody needs tires, said Eddie Topenio Saturday evening at the 40th anniversary of Tire Warehouse at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
The celebration was in honor of the anniversary of the family-owned and operated business in the Lihue Industrial Park, described as a true “mom-and-pop” business which has a big commitment to caring for the community.
The community, in turn, showed up in force as more than 800 people jammed into the Kauai Marriott ballroom to celebrate, not only the Tire Warehouse anniversary, but the Weber family as well.
“There is a lot of people here,” Topenio, the president of the Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce said. “I think the only time there were more people in this ballroom was during the Filipino Centennial. This gathering is a good cross section of the people on Kauai.”
Sharron Weber, owner and operator of Tire Warehouse, combined her talents with those of her brother George and neice Laurie to form the tire dealership in Lihue.
Capping off the night of celebration, representatives from the Good Year Rubber and Tire Co. named Tire Warehouse a Platinum dealership for the Hawaii region.
