Patricia Bishop (her husband reads the newspaper) said this is her best job, ever!
Patricia graduated from the Kauai Community College culinary arts program two years ago and is now the pantry cook at the cafeteria.
She was training Tori Pezario, a cashier and food server, in how to do the beef curry without making a mess.
Steven Nakata said the cafeteria is open for breakfast and lunch with bento, new for this semester, and an expanded offering of refrigerated salads, sandwiches, and of course, dessert.
But the trick is to go early because when the bento are gone, it’s gone until the following day.
Steven said Mel Bacio’s creations for the first days of school were a hit and everything sold out by lunch.
Best time? 10 a.m. before the classes get out at 10:30 a.m.
OK, time to get ready for football — Waimea comes to Kauai — wonder what’s on the menu.
Coach Ron Motosue said KSA starts next Sunday, and this week, it’s the Pop Warner Jamboree at Vidinha.
