Four Kauai Interscholastic Federation cross country runners came away with personal best times Saturday at the Iolani Cross Country Invitational at the Kualoa Ranch on Oahu.
Kauai’s Charles Samuel finished 59th overall with a 17:02 run on the three-mile course, followed by Andrew Herr, a junior, stopping the clock at 17:59 for 91st overall. On the girls side, Krista Schnackenberg clocked 19:56 while Sydney Brady finished in 20:35.
Kauai native Kaeo Kruse, a junior at Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, was second in 14:41. Grant Kam, a senior at Kamehameha with family ties on Kauai, crossed the line at 16:47, 47th overall.
The KIF runners return to the Kauai circuit when Kapaa High School hosts the cross country meet at the Kauai Ranch starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.
