Kudos to Bev Nagano and all the volunteers who turned out for the Kauai Diabetes Today Summer Bash event where people could learn more about diabetes through tests and seminars.
Past district governors Roy Nishida (Kelvin Moniz is getting ready to be trained as a district governor) and John Uyeno were on hand along with Naoko Ho who pushed up her tasks for the Waimea Alumni and Friends luau (the tent was great for cross country!).
Janice Bond said there were 10 Leo Club members helping in two shifts, and Prudencio Labutong was going to find fish (red menpachi for those with diabetes) to go along with the chicken hekka lunch.
Great job to Angel Acorda and Jean Iida on putting everything together (Joy Higa looked like she could be the sister of her 18-year-old daughter, said Sandi Sterker), and great job to Norissa Ahlgren on her diabetes presentation.
OK, time to go check out the KIF volleyball tonight!
