Larry Teves of Kapahi, retired after working 33 years as the overseer of roads in the Kapaa and Lihue area, had some giant avocados for people who stopped by Leimomi’s Lunch Wagon during the First Saturday event coordinated by the Kapaa Business Association.
Jo Manea was going crazy in the heat, coordinating the craft fair at the First Hawaiian Church (great job with the taiko performance, Aki Conquest, John Dunas and the Joyful Noise!), and Catherine Stoval was grateful for the local traffic that picks up the slack when the tourists are gone.
Tom Summers rode his cruiser to check on the Roxy Square before the nighttime excitement (Chris D’Angelo was there) started, and Sandy Poenhelt (she’s working on a new kitchen) had prime spot across the Lost Pelicans (never realized there were that many Pelicans here).
OK, this week is National Assisted Living Week and Sharon Lasker is having her third annual Kupuna Arts Showcase from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, complete with wine and cheese — check out the great work of the Regency at Puakea resident artists!
