The aroma of freshly cut mango was enough to stop people trying to escape the heat Saturday as Bea Raco scooped the bite-sized morsels into a fruit cup.
Bea said the mango are from her grandson Hana Raco’s Palakiko Farm (she was worrying about the farm during the fire last year) on the Westside.
Ursa Swift had special International Day of Peace sourdough bread available along with bread celebrating the ulu (Cynthia Chiang loved that) at the Midnight Bear booth and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said the community market at Kauai Community College (Helen Cox was looking for the global warming rally) will be celebrating its fifth anniversary in October.
Aletha Thomas of Monkeypod Jam was cruising the market and Liz Hahn said her latest betta entries earned five awards out of seven entries in New Jersey.
The market was a perfect stopping point following the KIF cross country meet on the other side of the Puhi campus.
