The deadline for registering for the annual Veterans Day Parade is approaching, said Aida Cruz, manager of the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue.
“We have two different deadlines,” Cruz said. “For people wishing to participate in the parade through Kapaa town, the deadline is by end of day, Oct. 17. Vendors interested in participating in the craft fair at the Kapaa Beach Park have a deadline of Oct. 24 to register.”
Cruz said applications for parade participation and craft fair vendors are available at the Kauai Veterans Center during operational hours, or at www.kauaiveteranscetner.com.
Honoring women in the military is the theme of the Veterans Day Parade, which will unfold on Nov. 8 starting at 10 a.m. from the Kapaa Shopping Center and wind through town, ending at the Kapaa Beach Park.
Special road closures to accommodate the parade will start at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the parade ends.
The annual Veterans Day memorial service hosted by the Kauai Veterans Council will be 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetary.
