Stanley Wakayama
Stanley Mitsuo Wakayama of Wailua House Lots passed away at home on October 6, 2014, at the age of 89. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on February 20, 1925. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, Military Intelligence Service and retired from the Department of Water.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Shigeru Wakayama, Tadao Wakayama and Ernest Wakayama.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Laura Wakayama and son, Scot Wakayama of Wailua House Lots; two grandsons, Tyson (Chanelle) Wakayama of Wailua House Lots and Travis Wakayama of Honolulu; one great-grandson, Makoa Stanley Wakayama of Wailua House Lots; one brother, Jack (Florence) Wakayama of California; four sisters, Miyako Betty Yama of Kauai, Kate Watase of Oahu, Grace (Kenji) Munechika of Oahu, Irene (Jerry) Matsuda of Washington; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2014, at Lihue Christian Church with visitation from 3:00 p.m. and services beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Wakayama family with arrangements.
Doric Yaris
Doric “Kaleo” Dwayne Yaris of Pakala Village, Makaweli, Kauai died on September 17, 2014 at the age of 47. Born on December 19, 1966 in Waimea, he was the Kumu of Halau Hula O Haliileo and sole proprieter of Kaleo Club International.
He is preceded in death by his father Lodrigo Doric Yaris of Pakala Village, wife Arlene Momilani Gampon-Yaris of Kaumakani.
He is survived by his son, Doric Kawaiola Yaris of Kekaha, mother Matilda Yaris of Pakala Village, sisters Woletta “Bobo” Laufenberg-Price of Clayton Nevada, Faith Nickok of San Francisco, CA Cyndy Carter of Dayton Nevada, brothers Michael Yaris and Jason Yaris of Pakala Village, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial concert of life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Waimea Theater from 12 noon to midnight. Call Kuulei Martins at 639-5032 if you would like to be included in the lineup.
Seferino Ragasa
Seferino Charito Pagat Ragasa passed away on July 22, 2014 at Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines at the age of 61. He was born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
Preceded in death by his mother Rosalina Pagat Alquiza, maternal grandparents Juan Pagat and Selvestra Salviejo Pagat, paternal grandparents Catalino Ragasa and Martina Ibe Ragasa, and sister in law Yolanda Ragasa, and step-brother in law, Virgilio Nartatez.
He is survived by his father, Rosario Ibe Ragasa, Step-mother Violeta Ragasa, siblings, Rosemarie (Mario) Dulatre of Lihue, Roger (Dina) Ragasa of Kekaha, Felymar Ragasa of Hanamaulu, Rheme (Cynthia) Ragasa of Puhi, Marfyn (Marlyn) Ragasa of Hanamaulu, Eldy (Annabel) Ragasa of Kapaa, step-siblings, Leonora Nartatez of Oahu, Susan Nartatez of Molokai, Alfonso Nartatez of Kapaa, Christopher (Lori) Nartatez of Molokai, Nida (Franz) Langer of Molokai, caregiver Simo (piña) Pagat, Maricel Pagat, Rizalina Pagat, Emelyn Pagat and Lovely Joy Pagat of Philippines numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 8:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Lihue, Kauai, Mass are scheduled at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church with burial of his ashes to follow at Lihue Cemetery in Lihue.
Annalene De Fries Spencer
Annalene Ku’uleionaona De Fries Spencer of Lihue, Kauai Passed away on September 27, 2014 at the age of 66 years old at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on February 1, 1948 in Oahu, Hawaii she was a retired Meal Clerk with the Hanalei Public School
She is Proceeded in death by her husband Earl Spencer, Sr., parents Arthur & Tamara De Fries daughter Gaylene K. Spencer, her grandson Naumu T.K. Spencer, and her two brothers, Arthur & Gaylord De Fries, her 3 children, Earl (Harilyn) Spencer, Jr., Lanakila Spencer, Sarahlene Spencer, her 2 sisters Kamala Mersberg and Edie De Fries, 2 brothers David “Boboy” (Sandy) De Fries, and Roland (Kari) De Fries, her hanai brother, Kea Kanealii, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday October 26, 2014 at Kapaa Seventh Day Adventist Church from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Where services will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Koolau Road Cemetery.

Thomas Sheldon
Thomas Loubet Sheldon, 74, of Wailua passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. “Luby” as he was affectionately known, was born on October 11, 1940 in Kealia, Kauai and served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a Sergeant for the Kauai Police Department. He was a fun loving, charismatic person, and will be missed by all of those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Sheldon; parents, Henry C. and Sarah Sheldon, and brother, Samuel W. Sheldon.
He is survived by his siblings, Henry K. Sheldon (Gladys), Richard Sheldon (Jeannie), Joyanne Dilwith, and companion, Winona Sheldon. Loved by all nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lihue Chapel (4580) Ehiku St. on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. with Services to follow at 10:00 a.m.
Arrangements and burial services will take place at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.
