Keenan Anaya (he still holds a KIF swim record) was home for a visit from San Diego and was “recruited” to help with the Mokihana Aquatics community cleanup day.
Sara Funtanilla said they literally found a kitchen, including a stove, washing machine and TV set. Kudos to the Mokihana swimmers, coaches and parents on a great effort!
Saturday was also National Recycling Day and what a great way for Elizabeth Freeman to start the preparation for the annual Festival of Lights which will open to the public on Dec. 5.
Charlene Navarro had her Kauai High School Academy of Hospitality and Tourism students on hand, and Manu Fonua said he’ll go to Oahu for football next week if Kapaa wins. I guess he’s staying home because Iolani edged out the Warriors, 29-24.
Dec. 5 might sound like a long way away, but it’s just around the corner as work on stringing the lights starts today, Elizabeth noting she needs to speak with Doug Haigh about all the trees that need trimming.
