The Kauai High School cheer squad, representing the Kauai Interscholastic Federation at the Zippy’s Hawaii High School Athletic Association state cheer champions, came up short Saturday on Oahu.
The KIF champions finished 10th in the Medium Division championships with a total of 291 points, just four points shy of Keaau High School from the Big Island Interscholastic Federation.
Kamehameha Schools-Maui topped the Medium Division with 350.75 points followed by Kaiser High School at 339.5 points. The Moanalua Menehune squad filled in the No. 3 spot at 338.75 points in the close race for second place.
Radford High School, earning 331 points, topped the Large Division over Waiakea High School with 319 points.
