Salvador S. Bacsain
Salvador S. Bacsain died on Dec. 9, 2014, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 75. Born to Donato Bacsain and Perpetua Sabularse on Dec. 28, 1938, he was a U.S Navy cook and a baker at Safeway in Kapaa.

He is survived by his wife, Felicidad Malana Bacsain; missing son, Christopher Bacsain; five daughters, Lucia Baase of Kauai, Mena Brissett of Kauai, Mary Bacsain of Kauai, Nancy Bacsain of Pennsylvania and Grace Bacsain of Kauai. Sisters, Carmen Buena (Rolando RIP), Teresa Cacabilos (Orlando), Genoveva Ponance (Teofilo), Eufemia Buena (Gregorio), Remedios Ariola (Igmedio); Brothers, Jose Bacsain (Necita), Luis Bacsain (Teresita). Sixteen grandchildren; Stephanie Bacsain, Nicole Bacsain, Tabitha Baase, Jeffrey Bacsain Suguitan, Casey Tangalin, Jessica Dutton, Bethany Tangalin, Olina Melody Tangalin, Jestus Custer, Maxamillian Bacsain Burgess, Tiffany Bacsain Pascual, Jasmine Kanani Wong, Justin Allen Nadzam, Ryan Nathaniel Nadzam, Maya Kailani Pospistle; Four great grandchildren: Alexander Lucius Stevens, Kyra Marie Nicgorski, Annabelle Lee Unsworth, and Ivane Noelani Dutton.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of life on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., services at 10:30 a.m. and burial at 1 p.m. at the Hanapepe Veteran’s Cemetery.

Josephine Refamonte
Josephine “Togo” Refamonte of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Dec. 5, 2014, at the age of 71. She was born on March 19, 1943 in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. She worked as a pantry worker in the hospitality industry at Kauai Surf, Sheraton Coconut Beach Hotel, and La Cascata, Princeville Resort.
She was preceded in death by her parents Zacarias and Muriel Rojas, brothers Charles Rojas and Patricio “Sonny” Rojas, sisters Ruthie Surveyor and Loretta Lum.
She is survived by her husband Tomas Refamonte, daughters Terrece “Humpy” Refamonte, Tonia “Titi” Refamonte, Taneil (Levi) Hirokane, sons Todd “Rocky” (Ade) Refamonte, Tomme Joe (Melissa) Refamonte, Troy (Keani) Refamonte, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Flora Camalliri, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Dec. 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lydgate Beach Park Main Pavilion. Her family requests casual attire.
Jonathan Renti Cruz
Jonathan Renti Cruz of Kekaha passed away on Dec. 6, 2014, at the age of 56. Born on Feb. 22, 1958, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a housekeeping supervisor with Macys.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Prudencio Renti Cruz Sr. and Magdalena Renti Cruz; and two brothers, Felix Renti Cruz and Jeffrey Renti Cruz.
He survived by his wife, Noelle Renti Cruz; three daughters, Jonelle Renti Cruz of Kekaha, Marleah Renti Cruz of Kekaha, Sharnelle Renti Cruz of Kekaha; brother, Prudencio (Helene) Renti Cruz Jr. of Oahu; and four sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Jimmy Sr.) Duvauchelle of Molokai, Darolyn Flores of Nevada, Geneoeva “Genny” Renti Cruz of Kekaha, and Cristita Alegria of Guam.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of life on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha officiated by Father Arnel Soriano. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. with services to follow right after. The family suggests casual attire and to omit flowers and wreaths.

Eloise Eiko Demas of Kalaheo, died on Dec. 7, 2014, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 79. Born on Oct. 20, 1935, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a bookkeeper at Brick Oven Pizza.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Harris Demas; son, Mitchell (Yolanda) Demas of Koloa; three daughters, Maria Oligo of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michelle (Nick) Omura of Kalaheo, Mylani (Quinn Burson) Demas of San Pablo, California; two brothers, Ellsworth (Debbie) Numuzawa of Omao, Dellick (Laurie) Numuzawa of Waimea; two sisters, Janet Paulos of Fairfield, California, Cheryl Dixon of Colorado; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of life on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the Koloa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with services to follow at 1 p.m. The family suggests causal/formal attire and to please omit flowers.
