WAIMEA – The annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
The parade will begin at Waimea Canyon Park and head down Kaumualii Highway to Alawai Road, turn onto Waimea Road, and end at Hofgaard Park.
To accommodate the parade, the Kauai Police Department will close off all streets along the parade route, including Huakai Road and Waimea Canyon Drive from Huakai to Kaumualii Highway.
The road closures will begin shortly after 5 p.m. and remain closed until about 8:30 p.m.
No parking will be allowed along the parade route.
The Kauai Police Department will be manning road closures and will reopen streets as the parade clears.
Motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations as traffic delays are expected.
