KEKAHA — The annual St. Theresa School Christmas program is Friday.
“It’s such an important event in our church,” said school principal Mary Buza-Sims. “It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ and … because it’s a Catholic school we do ensure that kids know what Christmas is all about.”
The play will run from 6 to 7 p.m. and will feature students in preschool through eighth grade. Students will be in costumes.
Younger students will be dressed like stars and snowmen while some of the older students will be dressed as prominent characters, like Joseph and Mary.
Each class will be singing two songs.
“We will end with a live nativity scene,” said Mille Curtis, the play’s director and music director at St. Raphael’s Church.
Christmas plays have been a part of the school since it was founded in 1946.
A spaghetti dinner will follow the play.
