Family, respect and value for all life. I was led to believe this was the foundation of the culture here; the true essence of this place and the people that live here. I cannot say how saddened and alarmed the murder of yet another monk seal has made me feel. This one only a 5-month-old innocent pup. I am ashamed our island is in the news again for another monk seal killing.
Someone who has in their heart family respect and value of all life knows something about this and or the person or persons responsible for this crime and tragedy. Please help stop those that value selfishness, disrespect and worthlessness. Honor the true values of this island, of this culture. You will be rewarded in your heart and by your community as TGI and agencies valuing our monk seal ohana (mahalo!) are together offering $20,000 for your information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, who have this darkness in their heart(s). I choose family, respect and value for all life. I hope you do too. Do the right thing; for yourself for your family and for our island.
