KAPAA — Wyndham KaEo Kai and Shearwater partnered with the St. Catherine School preschool students to deliver a load of Christmas cheer to residents at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.
“I’m so glad Wyndham decided to partner with the preschool,” said Zibeth Hada, an instructor. “We don’t have too many opportunities to partner with other people.”
The show involved the preschool students doing a presentation of holiday carols, followed by the presentation of gifts to each of the residents.
It’s one facet of a year-round program of giving by St. Catherine Schools, said Josie Pablo, the recreation director at Mahelona Hospital.
“St. Catherine Schools, through a Service Club program led by Pat Dougherty, comes every Thursday with 10 to 12 students,” Pablo said. “They actually work with the patients. They even helped when we held the Breast Cancer Walk.”
Pablo said the St. Catherine Schools’ giving program continues to help the residents during the holiday season.
“We are blessed that St. Catherine’s is so supportive of the hospital,” Pablo said.
