LIHUE — Nominations are open for candidates for three positions on the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
Candidates may be placed on the election ballot two ways, by petition or through nomination by the board’s nominating committee chaired by KIUC Director Peter Yukimura.
Members who wish to be considered should submit a letter of interest, application and a release form by Jan. 5 addressed to KIUC Nominating Committee, 4463 Pahee Street, Ste. 1, Lihue, HI 96766-2000.
The committee is looking for members who have past experience serving on the boards of community, nonprofit or government organizations. KIUC members may also be nominated by collecting 35 signatures of other members (electric account holders) in good standing and by submitting a completed member petition no later than Feb. 2.
The election is March 14. All forms are available at www.kiuc.coop.
