LIHUE — Ocean Safety officials are advising no swimming at all North Shore beaches due to hazardous ocean conditions, including high surf, strong shore breaks and dangerous currents.
Wave heights are up to 25 feet in some areas.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for all north- and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau. A large northwest swell is expected to peek today and slowly decline tonight and Thursday.
The warning may be extended or modified as conditions develop.
