Coverage of beer mile was irresponsible
I am totally disgusted that Bill Buley, editor of The Garden Island News, would chose to highlight an irresponsible event as the Beer Mile on the front page of the TGI wellness section (Dec. 10).
We all know that alcohol abuse is a real problem on our island, and why he would choose to “glorify” this event is beyond logic.

Regret remains, forgiveness sought
To a fellow employee with me at the PMRF at Barking Sands Facility on Kauai:
I am sorry that I do not remember your name, but I do remember the death of your child in Kekaha.
What I do remember is the fact that your child was stillborn and that you had to dig the grave on your own, with no help from the aloha spirit of Hawaii.
You had to dig the grave on your own with no help from any of us, your fellow employees.
You and your tragedy have never departed my memories. I still feel regret that I never offered my help, and I want to beg for your forgiveness for not being there to help you.
Many will never remember this situation, but I will never forget it.
You and your child is forever in my memory! Please forgive me!
