To the folks who took my OC1 Pegasus off the rocks and put it on the beach by the Beach House Restaurant.
To the folks who found my red paddle and left it at the Beach House.
And to all the rescue personnel and to Mark Jacobson for being there … and all the others … it was a great paddle.

Correcting the record
There was an error in my Dec. 27 guest opinion “Taking a closer look at Walmart wages.”
The inflation calculation from 1967 to 2014 is not more than $19 as stated. The amount should have been approximately $8.84 (different calculators produce slightly different results).
Hawaii’s minimum wage will be $7.75 an hour beginning today.
