Sophie Ornellas
Sophie M. Ornellas of Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on January 19, 2015 at the age of 95. Born on February 20, 1919 in Kumo Kumo, Kauai. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Delores Martin; husband, Willie Ornellas Sr., brothers, John, Manuel & Ralph; sisters, Mary, Gloria, Carmen & Isabella.
She is survived by her sons, Willie Ornellas Jr., Kapaa, Richard (Kuulei) Ornellas, Anahola, Patrick Ornellas, Kapaa, daughter, Bernice Lindsey, Kapaa, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday February 5, 2015 at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa. Visitation at 9:00 AM, Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery Kapaa, Kauai.

Lorraine Stampfl
Lorraine Josephine Stampfl of Wailua, Kauai passed into her savior’s loving arms on January 7, 2015 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on October 1, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a retired film technician for Consolidated Film Industries in Hollywood, California. From early on in life she loved music and dance and participated in her dance school’s programs where she danced the ballet. A poet from childhood, she wrote poetry influenced by her life experiences. Her favorite (pastime) was cooking and baking. She made the most delicious cakes, pies, breads and cookies. She loved all people and made friends easily. Her sense of humor made her the life of the party. Her faith in God & her love made our house a home.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frieda and George Fountas and by her sister, Marie Fountas.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Kinoshita (Steve Shioi), brothers Peter Fountas and Phillip Fountas, Sister Beverly Fountas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Lihue Lutheran Church at 9:30 a.m., services will begin at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow.

Vincent Peneyra
Vincent Peneyra of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on October 29, 2014 at the age of 43. Born on January 18, 1971 on Oahu, he was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro Peneyra; grandfather, Calvin Broyard Sr., Uncle, Charles Peneyra and Uncle, David Peneyra.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy Peneyra; daughter, Nohelani Abella; mother, Charmaine Moises; father, Douglas Moises; father, Alex Peneyra; sister, Angeli Peneyra; sister, Morgan Lopez; sister, Muriah Moises; brother, Shaydon Moises; nephew, Grayling Peneyra; grandmother, Concepcion Broyard; grandmother, Lapaz Peneyra, numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Lihue Lutheran Church, 4602 Hoomana Rd., Service will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Daniel dela Torre
Daniel dela Torre of Kapaa, previously of Kekaha, passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on January 24, 2015, at the age of 87. He was born in Kekaha, Kauai on December 29, 1927, and retired after 43 years with Kekaha Sugar Company as a Controller.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine “Sefa”, daughter Alison (Michael) Fernandes; son, Gary (Carol) dela Torre; 5 grandchildren, Levi (JoAnne) Fernandes, Jocelyn (Chad) Burch, Leland Fernandes, Amanda (Evan) Judd and Daniel “Jake” (Gabriella) dela Torre; 2 great-grandchildren, Sadie Burch, Gustavus Fernandes; brother, Jody (Emily) dela Torre; sister, Lillian (Bill) Whalers; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 3rd at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
