POIPU — Cora Murayama was announced as the All Around Cowgirl following the season-opening Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association event two weeks ago at the CJM Country Stables.
Murayama topped the breakaway roping event on an 11.07 average, bettering Kira Pimental, named the Reserve All Around Cowgirl for the rodeo, who ended the event in third with a 19.51 average.
Pimental reversed the tables in the goat tying event, capturing second with a 24.316 average and edging out Murayama, who finished fifth with a 26.329 average.
But Murayama came up with the fast time in the steer undecorating event, stopping the clock on a 2.32 run.
Murayama iced her honor by heading for Karen Akita for a 29.40 average and second place in the team roping event.
