Kapaa High School girls basketball earned the No. 3 seed at the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball State Championships, Division II.
With the Sunday morning announcement by the HHSAA, the Lady Warriors earn a bye on the opening round and will face the winner of the Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii and Damien on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. at Kalani High School on Oahu.
The Honokaa Dragons from the Big Island Interscholastic Federation earned top seed for Division II with the Hawaii Baptist Academy getting the No. 2 seed.
The Kaimuki Bulldogs earn the No. 4 seed at the state tournament which will have the championship game contested Friday from 5 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center on the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus.
Other participating Division II teams include McKinley, St. Francis, Molokai, University, Castle and Lanai high schools.
Top seed for Division I goes to Konawaena of the BIIF followed by Lahainaluna of the Maui Interscholastic League getting the No. 2 seed. Maryknoll earns the No. 3 seed followed by Roosevelt with the No. 4 seed.
Other teams participating in the Division I pool include Punahou, Kailua, Baldwin, Leilehua, Radford, Mililani, Hilo and Nanakuli high schools.
