Kudos to Melanie Okamoto, Lenny Rapozo and all the Department of Parks and Recreation on hosting a great senior Valentine dance Friday!
Lenny is going to be busy from Tuesday since Ronn Miyashiro and the University of Hawaii men’s golf team comes over for the John A. Burns golf tournament (Lenny said the tournament was born here, but played on Oahu) at the Wailua Golf Course.
Tuesday is the practice round and tournament play starts Wednesday with the final round teeing off Friday.
Pono Tokioka is coming home for this one as Hawaii’s No.3 golfer. He got off to a great start at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings Course (does Chris D’Angelo get to cover this, next year?) with a 3-under 69.
Kudos to Lisa Johnston, Father Arnel Soriano and the volunteers at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha on a great Valentine’s Day rummage sale (Debbie Olores said to keep an eye on when they do the Lechon pork plate special).
