KILAUEA — An evening of entertainment that celebrates Broadway performances is scheduled for Valentine’s Day at Common Ground in Kilauea.
Greg Shepherd, Kauai Community College music and drama professor, started “Broadway Pacific Productions” which specializes in live performances of Broadway show tunes.
He’ll be joined Saturday by Erin Gaines, Robert Carrasco, Cindy Jackson and John Bohling on vocals and Alan Van Zee on piano in performing “Broadway in Love.”
It will consist of love songs from the Great White Way, including selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Elton John, as well as some numbers from “Jersey Boys.”
Shepherd believes it will be a terrific show, especially for couples wanting to enjoy Valentine’s Day together.
“All of us in the group are experienced and professional singers, so it’s shaping up to be quite a special presentation,” he said.
The music will be accompanied by a special Valentine’s Day menu. Tickets are $125 or $150, which includes wine and beer selections. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and the show at 6. Reservations: jen@destinationeventshawaii.com or (808) 639-5960.
