June Ikemoto
June C. Ikemoto of Lihue, passed away on Feb. 25, 2015, at Stanford Medical Center at the age of 55. Born on June 14, 1959, in Waimea, Kauai, she was an attorney with Law Office of June C. Ikemoto and vice president and co-owner with Blue Knight Services Hawaii, Inc.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy W. Taguma; two daughters, Taryn Taguma of Lihue and Holly Taguma of Lihue; one brother, Alvin M. Ikemoto of Waimea; and one sister, Mitsue Ikemoto of Waimea.
A memorial service for June will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai with visitation at 9 a.m. and services to begin at 11 a.m.
Family suggests casual attire.

Donna Buhrman
Donna Marie (Dawna Su) Buhrman of Kapahi, Kauai made her transition due to complications of pneumonia and heart failure on Jan. 31, 2015, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. Born on Aug. 15, 1940, in Alhambra, California to William and Marie Reaves she was a retired nurse, healer, disabilities advocate and counselor.
She is survived by brother Andrew Reaves of San Diego, California, daughter Aveline (Larry) Belle of Oakland, California and sons David (Susan) Buhrman of Wimberly, Texas and William (Bill) Buhrman of El Cerrito, California plus former husband Frank Buhrman of San Diego, California, nieces, nephew, grandchildren and extended family and a large, loving Kauai community as well as colleagues, students and friends around the islands and throughout the world.

Karen Galante
Karen Lee Luvaas Galante of Kapaa passed away March 6, 2015, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Kauai, Hawaii, at the age of 60. She was born in Tacoma Washington Oct. 5, 1954. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano to children on Kauai for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father Harold C. Luvaas.
She is survived by her husband Joe Galante, her son Alex Galante, her mother Ivadell Luvaas, her brothers Andrew Luvaas (DeVauna), Lauren Luvaas (Dawn), Allen Luvaas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life with friends and family was held at her home on March 7.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Galante family with arrangements.
Colleen Okamoto
Colleen Corr Okamoto of Kekaha, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on January 30, 2015, at the age of 68. Born on March 12, 1946, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a branch manager with Waimea and Eleele KCFCU.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and May Corr; two brothers, James Corr Jr. and Richard Corr; and sister, Goldie Kahale.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Okamoto; three sons, Larry Okamoto of Kekaha, Jason (Loretta) Okamoto of Keaau and Jon Okamoto of Kekaha; daughter, Lorene Okamoto of Kekaha; four grandchildren; two hanai grandchildren; two hanai great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilfred (Patricia) Kualii of Puhi , Charles (Jean) Corr of Texas and John (Sandy) Corr of California; two sisters, Barbara Velasquez of Utah and Aletha Matsusaka of Kalaheo; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Church of Latter Day Saints, Kekaha Ward. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. with an 11 a.m. mass. A Celebration of Life is to follow at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Family suggests casual attire and to omit flowers.

Hermogenes Sagadraca
Hermogenes Dugay Sagadraca of Lihue passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 5, 2015, at the age of 89. He was born in Ilocos Norte, Bacarra, Philippines on April 19, 1925, and retired from Wailua Golf course as a tractor operator. He came to Kauai in 1946 with the last Sakada group.
Preceded in death by his wife, Frances T. Sagadraca; parents, Florentino and Diega Dugay Sagadraca; brother, Emilio Sagadraca; sister, Maxima Cadiz.
He is survived by his son, Danny (Odette) Sagadraca of Oahu; two grandchildren, Daniel Sagadraca of Arizona and Sasha (Brock) Dunlop of Arizona; two step-grandchildren, Stephanie Lam and Laurie Lam of Minnesota; two sisters, Veronica (Ben) Bolosan; Eusebia (Benildo) Cadiz; two brothers, Orlindo (Minda) Sagadraca, Virgilio (Fermina) Sagadraca; brother-in-law, Alfredo Cadiz; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Kimo Jardin
Kimo Iokepa Jardin passed away on Dec. 1, 2014, at home at the age of 36. Born on Oct. 15, 1978, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a laborer with the State of Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Antone and Helga Kahiapo Caldeira; paternal grandparents, William Jardin and Beatrice Abreu Jardin Capocci; uncles, Tony Caldeira, Kimo Caldeira, Jay Caldeira, and Billy Jardin; and aunt, Ramona Anzai Caldeira.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Heidi of Anahola; sister Ashley Kanoelani of Ewa Beach; uncle Caeser (Kris) Jardin of Kalaheo; aunts, Sandy (Dickson) Inouye, MaeLynn (John) Rita of Kalaheo, Mary (Bobby) Silva of Waimanalo, Carolee (Naka) Nakamura of Kaneohe, Hokulani (Boy) Kila of Nanakuli and Charlotte (Sonny Figaroa) Caldeira of Kekaha; numerous cousins and close friends; and Kimo’s beloved and loyal furry babies, Nohea, Jojo and Mana Boi (RIP 01-02-2015).
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m.

Mikela Kaiwi
Mikela Kaiwi of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on March 3, 2015, at the age of 74. Born on July 16, 1940, in Pakala, Kauai, he was a tugboat captain for Hawaiian Tug and Barge.
Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Emalia Kaiwi; brothers, Bene, Allen, Kalawelo Kaiwi; sisters, Mary Pahulehua, Rose Kanahele, Salala Kaiwi.
Survived by his wife, Loisann Kaiwi; sons, Michael Kaiwi, Jeffrey “Manu” (Stacey) Kaiwi; daughters, Kehaulani (Ellsworth) Kaiwi, Mapuana (Willard) Pa, Sachiko Kaiwi; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, hanai daughters, Sandy and Kendra; sisters, Emalia Kanahele, Isabella Matayoshi, Myra Kaiwi; brothers, George and Eugene Kaiwi; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Clinton Bettencourt
Clinton (Clint) M. Bettencourt of Kapa’a, Kaua’i passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family: Wife Rose, daughters Marisa and Michelle (Richie), sons Matthew (Ren), Micah (Jaylen), and Kai, dear friend and sister Pua’ala, and grandchildren Nalu, Peyton, and Kona. He served in the US Navy and retired as a Sergeant with the Kauai Police Dept. He was also an avid fisherman, a passion he shared with his entire family. Honoring his wishes, private services were held.
