Natividad Saflor
Natividad “Naty” Ligaya Maglinti Saflor, a former longtime resident of Kauai, passed away on Feb. 22, 2015, at Horizon Specialty Hospital in Henderson, Nevada at the age of 82. Born on Nov. 1, 1932, in Kapaa, Kauai, She worked at the Coco Palms Hotel for 36 years as a waitress and dining room supervisor and retired at Kauai WalMart.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Florencio “Enciong” Sicam Saflor; parents, Johnny “Juan” Dela Cruz Maglinti Sr. and Esidra Mangilit Maglinti; sisters, Sally Suzanne Maglinti, Violeta Maglinti, Mary Maglinti, Katherine Maglinti, Josiephine Maglinti, Pacita (Alfredo) Castillo; and brothers, Gilberto Maglinti, Alexander Maglinti Sr., William Maglinti Sr., Johhny “Juan” (Alice Almeida) Maglinti Jr., Antonio “Sabu/Tony” (Rosario “Rose” Pantigayon) Maglinti, George (Catherine Munar) Maglinti.
Natividad is survived by five sons, Steven Saflor of Las Vegas, Dennis (Victoria “Nanea” Pu’ulei) Saflor of Wainiha, Jeffrey Saflor of Tracy, California, Fredric Saflor of Las Vegas, and Kevin (Starlee) Saflor of Las Vegas; three daughters, Cecilia (John) Moore of West Palm Beach, Florida, Valerie (Pascual) Riofta of Las Vegas, and Lorene (Roberto) Texeira of Hanamaulu; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Vicente Maglinti Sr. of Oahu; four sisters, Gloria Santos and Inocencia “Sencia” Hoyohoy both of Oahu, Lourdes “Laurie” (Domingo Sr.) Alisna of Hanamaulu, and Incarnation “Inky” (Pancho) Ortiz of Lihue; and two sister-in-laws, Anna Seabury Maglinti of Wailua, and Pastora “Patsy” Pantigayon Maglinti of California.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa, with viewing from 8 to 10 a.m. Services and Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Burial on Monday, March 30, 2015, at noon at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Fallon Lopez
Fallon Lopez of Kapaa passed away at home on March 8, 2015, at the age of 32. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on June 9, 1982, and was a Security Dispatcher for Securitas at Lihue Airport.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Patrick Lopez Sr. and John I. Makanani and also by her grandmother Agnes Leimomi Makanani.
Fallon is survived by her grandmother, Rosalina “Sweetie” Lopez; mother, Petra Lopez Makanani; father, Clinton I. Makanani Sr.; sister Lea (Rob) Makanani-Boyce; brothers Clinton “Ioane” (Shiannte) Makanani Jr and Stephen “Kaliko” (Patty) Makanani. 6 nieces Mercedes “Noe” Makanani, Leilyn Makanani, Brianna “Boo Boo” Boyce, Seijia “Kilinahe” Makanani, Kiana “Aiko” Makanani and Faith Makanani; 3 nephews Robert “Paka” Boyce, Michael “Kamalu” Makanani and Jacob “Keone” Makanani; numerous Uncles, Aunties, Cousins and Friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at St. Catherine Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. Burial to be announced.

Mikela Kaiwi
Mikela Kaiwi of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on March 3, 2015, at the age of 74. Born on July 16, 1940, In Pakala, Kauai, he was a tugboat captain for Hawaiian Tug and Barge.
Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Emalia Kaiwi; brothers, Bene, Allen, Kalawelo Kaiwi; sisters, Mary Pahulehua, Rose Kanahele, Salala Kaiwi.
Survived by his wife, Loisann Kaiwi; sons, Michael Kaiwi, Jeffrey “Manu” (Stacey) Kaiwi; daughters, Kehaulani (Ellsworth) Kaiwi, Mapuana (Willard) Pa, Sachiko Kaiwi; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grand child, hanai daughters, Sandy and Kendra; sisters, Emalia Kanahele, Isabella Matayoshi, Myra Kaiwi; brothers, George and Eugene Kaiwi; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by Service at 11 a.m.

Inocencia Acoba
Inocencia Aggacid Acoba of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on March 10, 2015, at the age of 83. Born to Cipriano and Escolastica Aggacid on July 4, 1931, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Acoba; brother, Pedro Aggacid; sisters, Maria Aggacid, Esperanza Aceret and, Elena Aggacid.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma (Carlos) Medina of Eleele; sons, Cesar (Estra) Acoba of Ele’ele, and Abraham (Rosalee) Acoba of Kekaha and Idaho; and five grandchildren, Heather Medina of Eleele, Charles Medina of California; Stephanie Maile Acoba of Ele’ele, and Alyssa and Wendy Perry, both of Idaho; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kekaha, with viewing from 8 a.m., and services at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Family suggests casual attire.

Potenciano ‘Pat’ Agustin
Potenciano “Pat” Agustin passed away on March 5, 2015, at the age of 84. Born on Oct. 23, 1930, in Puhi, Kauai, he worked Security for Securitas at the Lihue Airport. He retired from Grove Farm Sugar Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Josefina Jadulang Agustin; his parents, Timoteo Domingo Agustin and Euphracia Lopes Agustin; his brothers, Acasio Agustin, Juan Agustin, Bernard Agustin, Paustino Agustin and Deme Agustin.
He is survived by 5 daughters, Candice (Steve) Cummings of Kapaa, Kauai, Patricia Melendez of Puhi, Kauai, Lara Sadorra of Puhi, Kauai, Lori (Richard) Pascua of Waianae, Oahu, Danielle (Aaron) Olds of Richardson, TX; one son Duwain Sadorra of Kaneohe, Oahu, 14 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren, one sister Rose (Matias) Arizo of Puhi, Kauai and numerous nieces and nephews.
A “Celebration of his Life” will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Lihue Baptist Church 3223 Elua St. Lihue, Kauai. Visitation at 9 a.m. followed by Services at 10:30 a.m.

Angel Unciano, Sr.
Angel Unciano, Sr., 89, of Waipahu, HI formerly of Waimea, HI, died on March 20, 2015, in Waipahu, HI. He was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Fely Unciano; daughters, Nieves (Allen) Bobiles and Angelita Mello; son, Angel Unciano, Jr.; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Melvin Tadao Iwamoto
Melvin Tadao Iwamoto, age 53 of Hanamaulu, HI passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in Honolulu. Born January 11, 1962, in Lihue HI, he was employed with Waialae Golf Course and the Hawaiian Electric, Inc. and attended the Kamehameha Schools, Class of 1980.
Melvin was predeceased by his father, Melvin T. Iwamoto, grandparents Tadashi and Pearl Iwamoto of Hanamaulu and Kaluna and Daisy Ka’auwai of Waipouli, Kauai.
Melvin was survived by his wife, Lea Kamakawiwo’ole Iwamoto of Honolulu; son Melvin T. Iwamoto, III, and daughter, Melia Kamakawiwo’ole Iwamoto of Honolulu. Also survived by his mother, Linda Kaauwai-Iwamoto of Hanama’ulu, sister Darrah (Hiwa) Makanui of Anahola, and brother Kyle T.K. Iwamoto of Honolulu; nieces Tihane (Luke) DeKneef of Honolulu and Chanita (Calsen) Makanui of Anahola; nephews Beau Lopez of Anahola and Rustin Iwamoto Hee of Honolulu. Grandniece Kahoku Morrow Lopez, Chase La’akea Chang Lopez of Kapaa and Kapilioha Makanui Hasegawa of Anahola; Uncles Johnny (Barbara) Ka’auwai of Anahola, Uncle William Ka’auwai of Honolulu and Blackie Isoda of Koloa; Auntys Tita (Robert) Gonsalves of Wailua, Ipo Ka’auwai of Anahola and Lauretta (Norman) Kamehiro of Honolulu and many cousins.
Visitation will be at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Kapaa First Hawaiian Church, Kapaa, Kauai; Service starting at 10 a.m. and Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Maunalua Bay, Hawaii Kai, Oahu, service starting at 3:30 p.m., scattering of ashes to follow.
Evelyn Garcia
Evelyn “Bing” Padasdao Garcia of Ewa Beach, Oahu formally of Koloa, Kauai was called home to our Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the age of 40. She was born on June 16, 1974, in Lanao, Bangui, Philippines and worked at Carnazzo Court Reporting as the Notice and Subpoena process server.
She is survived by her loving husband Stephen; son Bryan Caluya; step-daughters, Cheyenne Drake, Mariah Garcia; parents Felix and Florentina Padasdao; siblings, Emilie (Steven) Weinstein, Alexander (Adela) Padasdao, Brenda (Mike Stauber) Balaan, William (Grace) Padasdao, Eleanor Padasdao, Sherry Ann (Barry) Oyamot, Leanne (Brett Ishida) Padasdao; father in law, Renee (Jennie) Garcia; mother in law, Kathy (Victor) Potts; brother in law, Brent Garcia, Rob Potts; sister in law Angie (Conner) O’Shea as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015, at the St. Raphael Church in Koloa, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by Moanalua Mortuary.
Shigeo Tsuhako
Shigeo Tsuhako passed away peacefully after at short illness at Torrance Memorial Hospital on Feb. 1, 2015. Shige was born in Kahului, Maui on September 1, 1933, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was honorably discharged from US Army and a retired insurance agent.
He is survived by his wife May of 53 years; daughter Joy Tsuhako Salas; son-in-law Sergio Salas; grandchildren Zachary and Sanoe; and brothers Rikio and Masao Tsuhako of Maui.
Services will be held on Kauai on April 4, 2015, at the United Church of Christ in Waimea, Hawaii. Family respectfully requests no flowers and no monetary gifts (koden).
Jeremy Ledward
Jeremy Keli’i Ledward “da HAWAIIAN,” 43 of Kauai, died on Feb. 3, 2015, at Straub Hospital. He was born on Jan. 1, 1972, on Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu, Oahu.
He is survived by his daughter, Kiananapua ‘okai ‘ulani Ledward, sons, Jeremy Keli’i Ledward Jr. and Kyle Ledward. Na ‘ohana ‘o Makuahine, Mark “Papa Sau” Sausen, and Auntie Louise Sausen, brother Chad Listman, sisters Lehua Listman and Leah Sausen, Na ‘ohana on Makuakane.
Jeremy was preceded in death by Makuakane Leonard “Bobo” Tilton, “Mama Ipo” Colleen K. Tilton, brothers Shane K. Tilton and Saffery K. Tilton, sisters Shantel K. Tilton and Stacy K. Tilton, 6 nieces and 9 nephews as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
A “Celebration of Jeremy’s Life” will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Waimanalo, Oahu at Alaihi Street “beach access” and Sunday, March 29, 2015, in Hanalei, Kauai at “Pinetrees. For both Celebrations, visitation begins at 11 a.m. Services to begin at noon. Scattering of ashes and “Paddle Out and Potluck Paina to follow.
