Kudos to Dave Chaikin and his ohana of Menehune (and sponsors!) for putting on this great event. Todd Harrison and Mike Thornton gave it a great Kauai effort, but at least Todd can enjoy his spring break.
Mahalo to Fonz Nartatez and it was very pleasant running into Kanoa Nartatez (last time was on the soccer fields). Rich Roberts was able to catch the finals and Tom Finnegan (congrats on the engagement) had his fiancee and pets at the beach.
Larry Feinstein is getting excited because the Prince Kuhio canoe race registration takes place Friday at the Kauai Beer Company. He’ll have some people at the finish line Saturday at Salt Pond as well.
OK, today is National Kick Butt Day, but Val Saiki (she’s on Oahu for their event) said we won’t do ours until Friday at the Kukui Grove Center from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
