LIHUE — Stevette Ku’ulei Santiago has joined Y. Hata & Co. Ltd. as its chief administrative officer.
Santiago previously worked at Y. Hata in Honolulu, and has also worked in various industries including the wireless, broadband testing and banking/finance industries.
The food wholesaler bought out Koa Trading Co. in Lihue last year, officially taking over the operation Jan. 12, and is in the process of a merger.
“I will be traveling home more often than I have in the past,” Santiago, who grew up in Lawai and graduated from Waimea High School, wrote in an email. “My husband is also from Kekaha and we are both WHS graduates now residing on Oahu. All our ohana is still there, hence why this was exciting for me to move back to Y. Hata as well as help with the Koa transition.”
Santiago has more than 20 years of experience in human resources management and was also part-owner in a wireless LLC.
She currently is the co-council representative for the Society for Human Resources Management Association Hawaii Chapter and was previously the senior vice president of strategy and development for HawaiiUSA FCU.
