WAILUA— Ray Blouin, Aston Aloha Beach Hotel general manager, said he’ll be the one distributing the free hot dogs Saturday.
“My father and I always had hot dogs,” Blouin said. “Plus, I like doing it — giving free hot dogs to all the youngsters.”
Blouin will also be displaying one of his classic cars, a 1968 Camaro, as part of the free 4th annual Kauai Classic Cars Cruzin in Paradise Car Show which will be held at the Wailua hotel from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Blouin said there should be a lot of cars displayed for people to admire and chat with owners.
“Last year, we had more than 60 cars around the place,” he said.
Harvey Maeda of Kauai Classic Cars said there will be food booths, vendors, and a food collection to benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank.
“Anyone who owns a classic car is welcome to drop in and show off their wheels,” Maeda said. “We get quite a few people who discover classic car enthusiasts through gatherings like this.”
George Nitta, a longtime car enthusiast, will be coming in from Honolulu to talk to Kauai car owners about a variety of subjects, including ethanol in gasoline. He will also be doing his weekly radio car show from the lobby of the Aston Aloha Beach Hotel from 1 p.m. on Am 690.
