Kudos to Theresa Koki of Life’s Choices for coordinating the Sticker Shock campaign which targeted the alcohol departments of the Big Save/Times Supermarkets and Menehune Food Mart with a message on underage drinking.
The campaign (Athena Abadilla said to pray for the Waimea volleyball team) is part of April being National Alcohol Awareness Month.
Cyndi Ayonon (she’s still looking for applications for the Kauai Filipino Chamber scholarships) said more activities are on tap including the YWCA’s Walk A Mile in Her Shoes Wednesday at the Kukui Grove Center from 5 p.m.
Edie Ignacio Neumiller said the Zonta Club of Kauai and the Zonta Club of Hanalei will be promoting Wear Denim Day to bring awareness about sexual violence prevention and education on April 29 as part of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
And there’s still time for the blue ribbon for child abuse (yes, April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month) and Jessell Kerr had her open house of the Children’s Justice Center on Friday, too.
