Cecelia Hopkins
Cecelia Marie Hopkins, of Lihue, Kauai passed away on April 19, 2015 at her home at 84 years old.
She was born on June 17, 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Cecelia is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn Mokihana Zimmerman and Leimomi Celia Ann Lane; two sons, Kent Ikeda and Clayton Ikeda, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service has been scheduled for Sunday April 26, 2015 at Ke Alaula Oka Malamalama Church @ 910 Cook Street, Honolulu 96813 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be on Monday April 27, 2015 at National Memorial Cemetery of The Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu 96813 at 9:30 am.
The family is being assisted by Borthwick Mortuary.
Yoshiyuki Nakao
Yoshiyuki Nakao, affectionately known as Yochi by his family, passed away on February 25, 2015 at the age of 80. He was born on November 26, 1934 in Wahiawa, Oahu and moved to Kaua‘i at the age of 5. He was a retired Head Custodian at Wilcox Elementary School.
Yochi was preceded in death by his brother Tadayoshi Nakao.
Yochi is survived by his sister Helen Tanaka and brothers Noboru Nakao and George Nakao.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Wilcox Elementary School in Lihue. Casual attire, and please, no flowers or monetary offerings.
Yoshiko Shimabukuro
Yoshiko “Aunty Nancy” Shimabukuro, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on March 3, 2015 at home at the age of 93 at home under the specialized care of Islands Hospice. Yoshiko was born on December 8, 1921, in Mana, Kauai. She was a retired bookkeeper for Marwood Inc., Richard’s Chevron and many other businesses.
Yoshiko was preceded in death by her parents, Shosuke and Kama Shimabukuro, brother, Yuichi (Hiroye) Shimabukuro and sister, Masako (Kameichi) Awakuni, and brother in-law Herbert Apaka.
She is survived by her sister Kimie “Clara” Apaka of Lihue, nieces, A. Pomaikai(Durgh) Kane, Wendy(Ernest) Gonsalves, L. Puanani (Tom) Costales and Denise Shimabukuro, nephews, Raymond (Pauline) Awakuni, Alvin (Jane) Awakuni, Richard (Gail) Awakuni, C. Kahale Apaka and Sterlyn (Nancy) Shimabukuro as well as many grand-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Borthwick Mortuary Makai Chapel on Oahu at 9:00 am, followed by services at 10:00 am. Family requests casual attire and no flowers. Burial will be held on Kauai at a later date. Borthwick Mortuary in Oahu assisted the family with arrangements.
