LIHUE – In recognition of April being Fair Housing Month, the county is sponsoring free training on the Fair Housing Law on Tuesday, April 28.
“We provide this training every year to keep everyone apprised of the Fair Housing Law,” said Kauai County Housing Director Kamuela Cobb-Adams.
There will be two sessions held at the Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building, rooms A and B.
The first one is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and is geared toward property and resident managers, housing agents, homeowners’ association board members, landlords, as well as security and police officers.
The afternoon session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., and is intended for tenants, Section 8 clients and the public.
Featured speakers include representatives from the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
