PUHI — The Kauai Humane Society announced the winners of its poster contest last week.
The contest pitted the best and brightest of Kauai’s students, who were charged with the task of creating an artistic slogan to remind people how to treat animals with love, respect and aloha.
First place went to Travis Ewing, first-grader at King Kaumualii Elementary — good for $25 Walmart gift card.
Second place went to Ellie Pimentel, a home-schooled fifth-grader, who earned a $15 Walmart gift card.
Third place was Mila Pimentel, a home-schooled third-grader, won a $10 gift card.
Darla Squire, a first-grader at Kilauea School, earned honorable mention.
All winners will have their work displayed at KHS.
