Juliet Kaohelaulii said the new Sole Mates location should be up and running by June 15 near the Ono Family Restaurant (is Kenny Ishii doing some welcome-to-the-block specials? Artichoke omelet?) in Kapaa. She is sad to be leaving the Coconut MarketPlace where they started, but is happy to be closer to her daughter Jeni’s Work It Out shop (Jeni is busy being a traveler to find the latest in active lifestyle, mom said). She said they’ll celebrate a grand opening of the new place on June 20.
Mahalo to Cal Toyofuku for the super sweet lychee (no wonder the birds, pigs and chickens love it) and the daikon at bon dance practice. Isabel Storch was just talking about the 100-year-old juicer from New York at the Kauai Community Market Saturday and was busy tending Florence, Cal’s daughter, at the bon dance practice.
Patrick Watase is getting ready for the Waimea Shingon Mission bon dance which opens this evening, and Patrick said they should have some of the food stuff out early (around 6-ish?) for those who want to pick up on the way home.
