Jenn Hunt of Minetonka, Minnesota, said Wednesday was their second day on Kauai and they are having a blast! They got to meet Helen Lacono, aka The Soup Lady, had her granddaughter Kuu Breen (she was the ACF award winner and the “long name award” at the Kauai Community College graduation) helping instead of the Pelican (if you’re a Pelican in Hawaii, you’re lost — when do they play at Birdie’s?), and Kristen Yanagawa of Josselin’s Tapas Bar & Grill said the ahi is running, getting help from Ryan Collado (check out that Kim Chee Fried Rice which goes great with the sangria served up by Mylan Le) in making Ahi Poke Bombs for the chef’s demo.
Bobby Kamakele was enjoying the curry stew at the Merv Lopes Kauai Hoops Classic (great job, Coach Clarence Sales and Team Central!), and was Coach Ipo Yoshioka serving up roast pork Friday at Kauai High School (Anne Kane is in the midst of all the pool, construction and basketball tournament)?
Jackie Jung made it to the bon dance after Jim Jung was able to juggle the Kathy Clark farewell gathering and getting the Canoe of Remembrance which is fashioned after the Hokulea (mahalo to Steve Soltysik for the inspiration).
