KOLOA — The public is invited to view recent family feature films under the stars with the Movies in the Park program sponsored by the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach.
Movies will start at 8 p.m. in Poipu Beach Park on three Friday evenings: “Paddington” on June 19, “Jumanji” on July 10 and “Big Hero 6” on Aug. 21.
Admission is free. Viewers are encouraged to bring blankets and low beach chairs. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Koloa PTA.
“The club began the Movies in the Park program in 2009,” said Tom Gross, Rotary Club of Poipu Beach president. “As a result of the recession, Rotarians Roberta Charles and Greg Ransone saw a need to provide opportunities for a low-cost way for families to gather together and enjoy an evening in the park. We are now having the 6th annual film series. We hope everyone can attend.”
Organizations that have received community grants from the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach will provide pre-show entertainment at 7:45 each evening. Excel! Dance will leap into action on July 10. Kauai Underground Artists will perform on Aug. 21.
