Milton Burgess fired a 65 in the A Flight of the Kauai Seniors Golf Club tournament Saturday at the Wailua Golf Course.
Burgess edged Steve Kaui, who scored a 67. Both Burgess and Kaui had an 11-stroke handicap.
Dennis Hurlbert shot a 68 to win the B Flight. Larry Mata won the C Flight with a score of 67.
Winners in the A Flight include Burgess, Kaui, Ron Rayno (68), Kerry Oda (69), Mike Mills (69), Donald Kawane (71), Mary Ann Shintani (71), Davis Oshiro (72), Art Oshima (72) and Alan Tada (73).
Mackey Doi, Francis Oune, Russ Maeda and Art Yandall each shot a 71 in the B Flight. Ivan Nitta, Sheila Davis, Mike Prall, Gene Matsuda and Hawk Kawaihalau each scored 72 in the same flight.
C Flight winners include Mata, Pat Ramelb (68), Wendy Akita (69), David Landretti (72), Roy Thompson (73), Dan Spriggs (73), Stanley Arakaki (74), RJ Higgins (75), Stephen Miyamoto (75) and Joyce Nagata (75).
Hole-in-one at Kiahuna
Jan Arakaki shot a hole-in-one at Kiahuna Golf Club’s 16th hole in May.
Arakaki, 64, of Gardena, Calif., used a 5-iron to shoot her ball 99 yards into the cup.
Julie Masumoto witnessed the feat.
