Patsy Alayvilla

Patsy Ann Alayvilla of Kalaheo passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 27, 2015, at the age of 68. She was born in Lihue on September 10, 1946, and retired as a receiving clerk with Big Save Store in Koloa.

She is survived by two daughters, Melisa (Robert) Dodge of Hawaii Kai and Brenda Miyashiro of Eleele; one granddaughter, Ashlee Miyashiro; one grandson, Nicholas Dodge; three sisters, Theresa Mahuiki, Shirley Ipac and Diana (Michael) Carvalho; two brothers, Frank Simao Jr. and Patrick Simao; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws, sisters-in laws and special friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Holy Cross Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held privately.

Charee M. Watters

Charee Marie Watters of Kalaheo passed away in Garden Isle Healthcare on June 21, 2015, at the age of 77. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 2, 1937, to Bennett “Pat” Watters and Marie Fondow. She retired as a Human Resources Executive. Charee was a member of PFLAG and also a volunteer/seamstress with Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina’ala Halau.

Preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heidi Filas and daughter-in-law, Carla Krebs Carlson.

She is survived by former husband Keith E. Carlson; three daughters, Terre Carlson Winch, Anne Rande Watters, Karla Carlson; three sons, Kasey Carlson, Larry Carlson, Anthony Carlson; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; sister, Judith Watters; brother, Daniel Watters; nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held in September. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kauai Hospice, 4457 Pahee St., Lihue, HI 96766.

Leonard Nadoza

Leonard “Uncle Leo” Glenn Nadoza of Lihue formerly of 1218 Circle Lane, Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away at home on July 2, 2015, at the age of 63. He was born on Oahu on February 5, 1952, and worked in Auto Body repair service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernaldo and Juanita Nadoza; sister, Roseann Fontecha; nephew, Ryan A. Masumoto and brother-in-law, Wayne M. Lopez.

Leonard is survived by three daughters, Janna Nadoza, Amanda (Edward) Keopuhiwa and Camille Sirivattha; one granddaughter, Haley Keopuhiwa; one grandson, “T.J.” Keopuhiwa; one brother, Sidney Nadozo; two sisters, Jeraldine (Richard) Masumoto and Sharon Lopez; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry Kamehala Kaneholani Sr.

Jerry Kamehala Kaneholani Sr. of Kapaa passed away at home on June 3, 2015 at the age of 62. He was born in Lihue, HI on July 15, 1952. He enjoyed playing music around the island and helping anyone he could in anyway possible. Jerry was a tram driver for Smiths Tropical Paradise before working at the Queen Liliuokalani Childrens Center as a community outreach worker with children, leading Wood Carving Classes, Coconut weaving and Ukulele Classes.

Jerry is preceeded in death by his Father, Herbert Kealii Kaneholani Sr., Mother Elizabeth Sarah Kaneholani, Brothers, Herbert Sr., George, David and Harry Kaneholani and Sister Rosemary Sanay.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry Kamealoha Kaneholani Jr. of Puhi, HI , god son, Alan (Alison Leimomi Lovell) Akira Takenaka Jr. of Kapaa, hanai daughters, Cassandra “Ulu” Tupou of Wailua, Esther Kalei (Rick Rego) Cardinez of Kapaia; twin brother, Billy Kaneholani of Anahola, brothers, John (Leila) Kaneholani, Daniel (Evangaline) Kaneholani and Clement Kaneholani all of Anahola; sisters, Olinda Higashi of Anahola, Midge Asai and Miriam “Honey Girl” Kupihea of Kapaa, Olendra Kaleiohi of Lihue and Tatiana (Terry Ryan) Kaneholani of San Francisco and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at the Anahola Clubhouse on Saturday July 18, 2015 at 4 p.m.

Private scattering of Jerry’s ashes will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Kauai Hospice and its nurses for the care he received in his final days.

Reginald DeRoos

Reginald Dean DeRoos of Kalaheo passed away peacefully at his home on July 3, 2015, at the age of 60. He was born in Missouri on March 17, 1955, and worked with KUAI 720 radio station as a DJ and Station Manager.

Reginald is survived by his wife, Rebecca DeRoos of Kalaheo; his parents, Gordon and Neva DeRoos of Princeville; one sister, Debbie DeRoos of Kailua-Kona; two brothers, Steve DeRoos and his wife, Malu of Princeville and their two daughters, Mikhaila and Angela and Rick DeRoos of Santa Barbara, California; aunties, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Regi will be announced at a later date.

Toyoko Iwase

Toyoko Iwase passed away on July 3, 2015, at home, at the age of 90. Born on July 21, 1924, she was a secretary with HMSA.

She is survived by her three sons, Alan K. (Yulan) Iwase of Honolulu, Vernon H. Iwase of Lawai, and Graig T. (Carol) Iwase of Honolulu; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Services are private.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Peter Mahi Abraham

Peter Mahi Abraham of Kona passed away in Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on July 2, 2015, at the age of 35. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii on December 5, 1979, and was the manager and mechanic with Tats Union 76 service station in Kona.

He is survived by his mother, Myra Abraham of Kona; two daughters, Pualei Abraham and Anela Abraham of Maui; sister, Alohi (Kalani Patacsil) Abraham, hanai-sister, Heather Goto; brothers, Timothy K. (Lehua Ulu), Makaio C., all of Kona, Pelika P. Abraham of Wailua Homesteads; hanai parents, Lionel and Elaine Tatsutani; numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and cousins.

Private services were held on Kauai.

Liann Kawehi Hardy

Liann Kawehi Hardy of Lihue passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on July 1, 2015, at the age of 57. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 20, 1958, and was a self-employed Child Care Provider.

She is preceded in death by her father, Pong Ne Park.

Liann is survived by her husband, Bob Hardy; three sons, Dane Kaleo (Amy) Park, Shea Hardy and Dana Hardy; 3 grandchildren; mother, Annie Park; four brothers, Thomas Ai, Telford Ai, Raymond Ai and John Park; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Lydgate Beach Park – beach side beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Antonio Udarbe

Antonio Udarbe of Kaumakani passed away on June 28, 2015, at KVMH at the age of 67. Born on January 17, 1948, in Magsingal Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a field worker with Global Ag.

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Udarbe; son, Anthony Kyle Udarbe of Kaumakani; daughter, Carmila Udarbe of Kaumakani; one adopted son, Noel Ryan Udarbe of Philippines; mother-in-law, Mila Racimo of Kaumakani; five sisters, Ceferina (Pedro) Costales of Kekaha, Orencia Ancheta of Kekaha, Carmen Agbasit of Kaumakani, Dolly (Audy) Navalta of Kapaa, and Inocensia Udarbe of Philippines; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 10, 2015, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Burial will be followed at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Family suggests casual attire and is open to flowers.
