Good luck to Sarah Manuel, the first runner-up at the Miss Hawaii pageant as well as the recipient of the Miracle Worker award (aren’t you glad you went to support her at the Kapaa Beach Park?), who is off to another pageant, for first runners-up, in Indiana!
Sarah Tochiki said the All-Island Kauai band is planning a trip to Washington, D.C., to perform (they sounded really good). She needs support to get these young musicians off to show what they can do.
People were everywhere — Carol Ann Davis was looking for her clearances? Mike Teruya said he had a good vantage point right outside the Anne Knudsen Park, and Ferd Batin was way down by Borthwick Mortuary, ending up with Carol Ann outside of Sueoka Store (Rod Sueoka was doing traffic duty since Wendy was doing something in the back parking lot; maybe Scott Sato couldn’t find a parking space).
Mahalo to Nalani Brun (she’s a really good judge as well as delivering the national anthem), and kudos to Arryl Kaneshiro (what happened to Chala Vidinha?) on a great event. Kudos to Melissa McFerrin- Warrack who has been pulling all these different events together and even made it to the silent auction after the Flavors of Kukuiula!
