Tiffany Thompson of the Legacy for Life Hawaii got a preview of Kauai when she joined the Vision Van (who got stuck at Polihale when the rains came?) team Monday at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (they celebrate 98 years, this week).
Tiffany said they’ll be moving to Kauai next month when her fiance starts his job with the clean water people.
The Legacy for Life and bluejay (free cellphones) were two of the organizations who will be with the Vision Van (Kalei Cleveland is dying to meet Sam Bonnano of Kamoa ukulele) for the rest of the week (they do two stops Wednesday — from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Regency at Puakea, and from 3 p.m. at the Church of the Crossroads).
Kudos to Frank Tobias and the Kapaa Lions Club for braving the mid-morning downpour (June Munoz’s words). Micah Medeiros scored when he got new reading glasses following his free vision screening.
OK, time to go check out Sybil Nishioka and the Fun in Fellowship Dodgeball practice maybe even have the laundry done for free, too.
