Kudos to Coach Orlando “O” Anaya and all the “Mokiohana” on doing such a great job with that meet which pulled in more than 100 swimmers from around the state!
Maj. Victor Aguilar had to tend to some sunburn from his Waimea High School JrROTC cadets, who did timing duty at the meet on Saturday and still had energy to present the colors for the preseason football game against Pac 5 at Hanapepe Stadium.
Jim Rosa did more than run the popcorn machine — he donated the supplies for some of the refreshments, and it was a good feeling to see Gracie Stokes (she’s a Mokihana team captain) working with coaches Bo Domingcil and Coach O between her own swims.
East Kauai Lion Roy Nishida said Lloyd “The Molokai Flash” Yonemura is planning on doing a workshop for swimmers wanting to go to college and swim — watch for details.
