Ashley Nagaoka did it! She collected a group of her friends (Ashley Schenk came all the way from Maui) and ran the half marathon for her dad Mark Nagaoka who had the event on his to-do list before losing his fight against cancer.
Kauai High School physical education teacher (she’s also the cross country coach!) was part of the team, but in addition to running on Uncle Mark’s team, was thrilled when Tyler McCandless donated 70 pairs of shoes to the Red Raider cross country team on behalf of Newton. Kudos to Jeff Saccini and Bob Craver for doing another marvelous (Dickie Chang word) job on putting the event on!
Chantal Zarbaugh is off to another chapter in her life, starting work with the Kukui Grove Center’s management office. She got a chance to meet Crystal Perry, the Fun Factory Kukui Grove manager, to talk about the grand re-opening and birthday celebration, Saturday with Augie T. Kehau Durante who organized the Labor Day water park event at Nawiliwili Park was recuperating from the weekend’s experience with her family. She said they’ll do it again on the Fourth of July.
