LIHUE — A selfie stick was important as Caleb Licke and his sister Michaela Licke recorded their entrance to Vidinha Stadium Saturday during the Kauai High School homecoming festivities.
Michaela, the daughter of Michelle and David Licke, reigned as the Red Raiders’ homecoming queen during the halftime celebration which featured the Kauai High School band playing out memories of the ‘70s under the direction of David Miyasato.
Sheena Carmela Juliano, escorted onto the field by her dad Ferdinand Juliano, wore the sash of Miss Raider.
Miss Football honors went to Caley Caires, escorted by her father Clyde Caires, and Brittney Yoshida was graced with the sash of Miss Victory as she was escorted onto the field by her dad Vernon Yoshida.
Taylor Pacol donned the sash of Miss Spirit, escorted by her dad Melvyn Pacol.
Class representatives included Laura Koga, escorted by her dad Craig Koga, for the Class of 2016. Kealohilani Hoopii was escorted by her father Ammon Hoopii as the representative of the Class of 2017.
Rachel Curnan, escorted by her father Daniel Curnan, had the honor of representing the Class of 2018, and the Class of 2019 was represented by Ciena Caires, escorted by her uncle Micah Sibayan.
The Red Raider football team, leaving the field with a 0-0 stalemate at the break, came back to ice the homecoming with a 17-0 win over Waimea, including an unusual touchdown where Quinten Mundon snared a muffed punt in the end zone for a fourth quarter score.
